Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006
The Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006 was passed on 30 March 2006. Copies will be placed on www.opsi.gov.uk . The provisions of the Act do not come into force immediately: they will be brought into force by commencement orders. We have no timescales for these yet. You can find related texts, including links to parliamentary debates at http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/ind/en/home/laws___policy/legislation.html No further amendments to the Act were made after Lords Third Reading, but note that no updated Bill was published after Lords Third Reading so do consult the Act. The ILPA training courses on the new Act accurately reflected the contents of the now Act, ILPA will be producing a collection of Ministerial statements made during the passage of the Act.
