The aim of this course is to familiarise practitioners with the recent developments in the case law in relation to both types of nationality decisions. 

​Following this course practitioners should feel confident to navigate their way through any case involving a refusal or deprivation of nationality.

Audience:The course is aimed at practitioners who are taking such cases to SIAC whether at an early stage in proceedings or who have been engaged for some time. Ideally they will be familiar with the basic legal framework and the SIAC process.

Aim of course:The aim of this course is to familiarise practitioners with the recent developments in the case law in relation to both types of nationality decisions. There are a large number of cases at first instance before SIAC and cases pending before the CA. There are important issues of due process at stake including relating to advance notice, reasons, service of decisions whilst individuals are outside the UK, and Article 8 ECHR.

Following this course practitioners should feel confident to navigate their way through any case involving a refusal or deprivation of nationality.

She has been instructed on numerous test cases in this field before the Courts in the UK and Europe. She has particular expertise in nationality cases before SIAC including Al Jedda, and MB both of which are pending before the CA and SIAC respectively.
