DT 1885 Derivative Rights of Residence

The EU Settlement Scheme allows those with derivative rights a route to remain and settle in the UK when the UK leaves the European Union. This course will explore the complex rights, and how they have been incorporated into the EU Settlement Scheme.

Tutor biographies:Neena Acharya, Coram Children's Legal Centre

Neena is a solicitor at Coram Children's Legal Centre. She is experiences in representing clients at all stages of the immigration and asylum process, including initial applications, appeals in the First Tier and Upper Tribunals and the Court of Appeal. She has particular expertise and interest in judicial review challenges (her recent cases include challenges to the length of leave granted, refusals of fresh claims, deportation cases and unlawful detention). 

Luke Piper, South West Law and the3million

Luke Piper is a solicitor at South West Law with approximately 10 years' experience in UK immigration law. Since the referendum, Luke has and continues to work closely with the3million and British in Europe, two groups campaigning for the protection of rights of EU citizens in the UK and UK citizens in the EU following Brexit. He is currently working with the groups in relation to a potential legal challenge following the voting disenfranchisement during the 2019 EU MEP elections.
