We are delighted to welcome back Mark Symes and Peter Jorro, the authors of Symes and Jorro on Asylum Law and Practice, now in its second edition, to update you on the latest developments legal developments on refugee law, subsidiary protection, other human rights Conventions relevant to protection of migrants, and litigation likely to arise out of these developments. Asylum law is never dull. There is ongoing litigation on various aspects of international protection law, both regarding refugees and those eligible for subsidiary protection. The UK courts have continued to develop their interpretation of all aspects of this area of law. This course aims to update delegates with the developments in domestic and European case law.
Consequences of criminality, exclusion from refugee status, the terms of discretionary leave to remain, third country cases, disputed nationality, the scope of Humanitarian Protection, and accelerated procedures.
